VALENTINE DAY
The modern celebration of St. Valentine’s Day probably grew out of a tradition that started in about the 14th century. For many years young people would get together on St. Valentine’s Eve. Each person became the “valentine” of the one whose name was drawn from a valentine box.

Nyepi is an important Hindu holiday in Bali, usually called the ‘Day of Silence’. It is held at the start of the Balinese year, usually in March.
Nyepi is a public holiday in Indonesia, and most locals observe it by practicing silence, fasting, and meditation. Silence, fasting and meditation allow the devout to engage in self-introspection.
